Christmas Card Time!

As many of you know we don't send out Christmas cards but we still wanted to share a Christmas greeting with you! Hope you have a worship-filled holiday and are awed by His work in your lives!

Blessings for this holiday and the coming year!

It's that time of year again!

I've had a love hate relationship with this holiday for years. But here's some fun! Just because it is fun and funny! Have a happy Halloween and reach others with the gospel!

Fear Factor Home Addition!!

Came home tonight to this lovely visitor! Photo credit goes to my hubs for the large on and me to the distance one, haha! I'm a chicken!

Constrained?

Recently many have asked me this question: Why sign your emails or letters "constrained"?

Here's my answer:
The bible in 2 Cor 5:14-15 says that the "love of God constrains us" and we know that because one died for all then ALL died that we might live to Him. I have learned from experience that often the things I desire to do (like avenge myself, be selfish, do things that make me the focus) often are changed into things He would have me to do- as if even my obedience is supernatural in everyway. It's like God is compelling me, controlling me, to be and to do things he calls us too. I have found myself constrained to follow even at times I felt the cost too high or too deep. That's why I write constrained at the end of letters and emails,  because I have found Christ to have truly BOUGHT my life and made me His slave, even often in spite of myself! I hope that satiates the curious minds!

No Scar?

Hast thou no scar?
No hidden scar on foot, or side, or hand?
I hear thee sung as mighty in the land.
I hear them hail thy bright, ascendant star.
Hast thou no scar?
Hast thou no wound?
Yet I was wounded by the archers, spent.
Leaned Me against a tree to die; and rent
By raving beasts that compasses Me, I swooned;
Hast thou no wound?
No wound? No scar?
Yet, as the Master shall the servant be,
And pierced are the feet that follow Me;
But thine are whole: can he have followed far
Who has no wound or scar?

What's on my kindle for July/August?

1. The Rise and Fall of the third Reich by Shirer

2. The red pyramid by Riordan

3. Letters and Papers from Prison by Bonhoeffer

4. No Ordinary Marriage by Savage

5. Daja's Book by pierce

Not too much reading going on here lately. We've been too busy for my lofty goals to be met in the reading area. So I'm trying to catch up on reading and honestly just using books to wind  down in the evenings and not necessarily to expand my mind! Haha! Turns out this literature freak has been tired lately! Hope your summer reading is faring better than mine!

Jesus, I my cross have taken

1. Jesus, I my cross have taken,
All to leave and follow Thee.
Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou from hence my all shall be.
Perish every fond ambition,
All I’ve sought or hoped or known.
Yet how rich is my condition!
God and heaven are still my own.

2. Let the world despise and leave me,
They have left my Savior, too.
Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like them, untrue.

O while Thou dost smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
Foes may hate and friends disown me,
Show Thy face and all is bright.

3. Man may trouble and distress me,
’Twill but drive me to Thy breast.
Life with trials hard may press me;
Heaven will bring me sweeter rest.
Oh, ’tis not in grief to harm me
While Thy love is left to me;
Oh, ’twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with Thee.

4. Go, then, earthly fame and treasure,
Come disaster, scorn and pain
In Thy service, pain is pleasure,
With Thy favor, loss is gain

I have called Thee Abba Father,
I have stayed my heart on Thee
Storms may howl, and clouds may gather;
All must work for good to me.

5. Soul, then know thy full salvation
Rise o’er sin and fear and care
Joy to find in every station,
Something still to do or bear.
Think what Spirit dwells within thee,
Think what Father’s smiles are thine,
Think that Jesus died to win thee,
Child of heaven, canst thou repine.

6. Haste thee on from grace to glory,
Armed by faith, and winged by prayer.
Heaven’s eternal days before thee,
God’s own hand shall guide us there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days,
Hope shall change to glad fruition,
Faith to sight, and prayer to praise.
