Where is ALL Began....

I doubt my kiddies ever think about where their story began. But I think of it often. I think of the scenes where our romance was born. I think of the walks, the drives, the rooms, the smells, the places where we first said "I love you" and the local of our first date. Our first home, and all those first moments that founded the romance we live daily. So while my children probably don't think often about how their story began...its still fun to intertwine the present with the flavor of the past.

Goodbye King Self, Hello King Jesus

I am a product of a broken home. My parents divorced when I was ten and afterwards my sisters and I were thrown into a very unreal word of my father's other life. Women and sex, cursing and neglect became realities for us. We saw first hand the person who we knew as Dad  had become something ugly, unloving, obsessed with women and pleasure and totally unrecognizable as the father we had grown up knowing. So when my mother met and got engaged to her high school sweetheart, I was ecstatic! I would have probably moved anywhere, just to forget that my father didn't love me, that women objectified themselves for acceptance and that my life was a total lie. I packed and moved as happily as any person I could have imagined! I was willing to make this new shot at life work and that meant I was able to start over.

Happy Valentines Day!

In the opinion of the world, marriage ends all, as it does in a comedy. The truth is precisely the opposite: it begins all. ~Anne Sophie Swetchine

Laughter is the corrective force which prevents us from becoming cranks. ~Henri Bergson

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV)

A man isn't poor if he can still laugh. ~Raymond Hitchcock

How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said. ~Victor Hugo

A kiss is just a pleasant reminder that two heads are better than one. ~Author Unknown

What a happy and holy fashion it is that those who love one another should rest on the same pillow. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

Newlyweds become oldyweds, and oldyweds are the reasons that families work. ~Author Unknown

"To laugh often and love much... to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to give one's self... this is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Silas and Kace!

Sliding still worked just as well even without the skateboard!

If you look close the child has fit the binkie and a sucker in his mouth simultaneously. We thought this hysterical!

Okay, so we are the proud parents of a third walker! Our youngest finally walked at 13 months old! We thought he would take longer, but no! He surprised us this morning with this wonderful, fantastic, amazing ability! Sorry the picture is so poor, we need to get batteries for our digital so the cell phone will have to do!4/3/08

Reposting Memories Circa 2007: Silas and Dinosaurs July 2007

Our Family went to visit Powell Gardens this week so that we could spend some time as a family enjoying being outside together, but mostly because there was a dinosaur exhibit and Silas, our oldest, is simply gaga over anything reptile. So we loaded up the crew and set forth....no just kidding, but we tramped through this very neat botanical garden and saw some dinos along the way! Enjoy our pictures and I hope soon to see what you have been up to this summer! Blessings!

T-Rex Boy!

Big and small, hats on 'em all! (okay gimme a break I couldn't think of anything better.)

Silas looks as uncomfortable as this dino.

Hi Dragons (what they like to call the dinos)

Silas can hardly believe his good fortune, there is a dino in the lake!

Not quite sure what these are, but they fly.

This is the crowning glory.....the Tyrannosaurus Rex!

"Hmmmm, I wonder if they will notice me eating dirt?"

We even took a picture for you to see we are still in complete control of our sanity.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! Your kids probably stayed up and watched the fireworks just like ours did(although it was passed bed time and they were not supposed to), but I doubt you wished your neighbors would move away and stop shooting their fire crackers at your home.....Well I only wished for a little while!

Update 2012: Silas still loves dinos, but his love usually translates to books and movies now. Although I know he would love to do something like this again...I don't know if he remembers this. Gresham too, loves dinos. They grow up so fast, this was almost five years ago now.
