According To Gresham and Petra: The Baby In Mom's Belly Edition

"You are a sweet baby!" .....Momma to Libi.

"God made you!" .....Gresham to Libi.

"And we are glad he brought you to us!" ....Petra to Libi.

"Momma, God made Libi in your belly didn't he?" .....Gresham.

"You saw her in my belly, what do you think?" ......momma.

"Yes, I remember her in your belly!" .....Gresham.

"The doctors took her out of your belly, momma!" ......Petra.

"Yeah you were all in my belly and the doctors took you all out!" .......momma.

"Momma, I just don't know how you could have that many babies in your belly!" .....Gresham holding his belly and acting like momma should have exploded.

"See these lines and scars on momma's belly, these are from you guys growing in my belly and living in there." ......Momma, showing her battle scars.

"These are from the times we kicked you inside aren't they momma?".....Gresham pointing at the scars on momma's tummy.

"It was an accident you know when we kicked you! We're sorry, we didn't really mean it!" .....Gresham.

"Yeah, it was an accident!" ....Petra.

Happy Valentines Day!

In the opinion of the world, marriage ends all, as it does in a comedy. The truth is precisely the opposite: it begins all. ~Anne Sophie Swetchine

Laughter is the corrective force which prevents us from becoming cranks. ~Henri Bergson

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV)

A man isn't poor if he can still laugh. ~Raymond Hitchcock

How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said. ~Victor Hugo

A kiss is just a pleasant reminder that two heads are better than one. ~Author Unknown

What a happy and holy fashion it is that those who love one another should rest on the same pillow. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

Newlyweds become oldyweds, and oldyweds are the reasons that families work. ~Author Unknown

"To laugh often and love much... to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to give one's self... this is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Photo Round Up: Donner Party Edition

They are such close buddies!

Our Little Flirt!

This park had a TON of HUGE Rocks for the kids
to run and jump on! It was really neat.

Fab Cali Pinecones.

This plack was on a large rock which was once part of one of the Donner
Party Cabins during their time in the Sierra Nevadas. It lists the names of the
Party Members, I don't remember how many survived.

Notice any similarities?

Funny thing is that we drove from St Joseph Missouri and took this nearly exact route!

The top platform where the statue is was the level of the snow
when the donner party were stranded in that winter, it was at least 10 feet! Crazy!!!

Thinkin' Hard!

According to Kace and Silas: Harry Potter Edition

Two of our boys love Harry Potter films. We have allowed them to watch all of them while we skip over parts of the film. We finally finished the last film, as a family (well most of it!) and so now our boys enjoy playing "harry potter".

"Momma, can I be Harry in this spell game?".....Silas.

"I want to be Harry Potter too, Momma!" .....Gresham.

"You are too tall to be Harry Silas, why don't you be Neville? He's the tallest." .....momma.

"N-E-VILLLE?!?!?!" ......Silas, beginning to cry!

"Gresham you can be harry as you are the shortest." ......momma.

"N-E-VILLLEEE?!?!?!?!?!?!?" ......Silas, tears are starting to jump onto his eye lashes!

"Kace can be Ron." .....momma, trying not to laugh at the drama queen emerging in the form of my son.

"What about Hermilly?" ....Kace.

"Hermilley?" .......Daddy. "You can be Hermilly, Silas, if you're gonna act like a girl." .....Daddy, laughing.

"NOT N-E-VILLLEEE!!!" . . . . Silas, ignoring us.

"Haha, Hermilly!".....Kace.

"Silas, Neville is the tallest!" ......Gresham, always the voice of reason as he views it!

"NEVILLE!! I DON'T WANT TO BE NEVILLE!!" ........Silas.

"Okay, give me your wand!" .....Momma, reaching out to take the pez dispenser that is being used by her eldest son as a wand (the other two also have their pez dispensers being employed as wands).

"Huh?" ........Silas, tears stopped instantly. "Momma what other spells can harry potter do?"

"Reducto?" ......Momma.

"REDUCTO!!!" ......Silas, Kace, and Gresham, wielding their amazing pez wands!

The Quiet Game

One of the best moments of my day is when this happens:

It's not really a game that we play!
It's a miracle of Epic proportions!
A master Achievement!
It's Undeniably the most relaxing time of our day!
And it doesn't last long... but it's well worth it!!

Note: many of you are mad at me right now, but for heaven sake why? You know it's nice after a long day to have some stillness?!

2 nd Note: We haven't gotten everything out of storage yet, and Kace asked to sleep on the floor because he said he made himself a special bed! And yes I know it's been two months! It's hard moving furniture with so many kiddies!
